ReHarmony Adamas Ultra Clear Coat

ReHarmony Adamas Ultra Clear Coat is a high-performance coating system composed of a hydroxyl-containing resin component and an isocyanate-based curing agent. When mixed in a specific ratio, the two components undergo a cross-linking reaction to form a durable and protective film.

This topcoat offers excellent weather resistance, outstanding physical and chemical stability, high gloss, and strong decorative appeal. With superior application performance and eco-friendly properties, it is widely used in automotive coatings, shipbuilding, machinery manufacturing, furniture, architectural decoration, and electronics industries.

Surface Preparation Technical Requirements

1. Surface Cleaning

  • Degreasing: Remove oil/grease using organic solvents (acetone, mineral spirits) or specialized degreasers to ensure oil-free surfaces for optimal coating adhesion.

  • Dust removal: Eliminate dust/particles with compressed air, vacuum or clean cloth to prevent contamination.

2. Surface Abrasion

  • Metal surfaces:

    • Sand with 180-240 grit for smooth metals

    • Use 240-320 grit after rust/old coating removal

  • Plastic surfaces:

    • Lightly abrade with 1000-1500 grit

    • Avoid excessive sanding to prevent deformation

  • Wood surfaces:

    • Sand along grain direction

    • Progress from 120 to 240-320 grit

3. Moisture Elimination

  • Thoroughly dry surfaces using cloth, heat guns or air blowers

  • Prevent coating blisters/adhesion failure by ensuring complete dryness

4. Special Treatments

  • Metals: Apply phosphating/passivation after preparation to enhance corrosion resistance

  • Plastics: Use flame/plasma treatment or specialty primers for improved adhesion

  • Wood:

    • Maintain 8-12% moisture content

    • Apply sealer on knotty areas to prevent resin bleeding

Key Considerations

  1. Environmental Conditions

  • Maintain 5-35°C temperature

  • Keep relative humidity ≤85%

  • Implement dust control measures in windy conditions

  1. Tool Requirements

  • Use clean, dry abrasives (silica sand/steel grit) for blasting

  • Follow "coarse-to-fine" sanding sequence

  1. Quality Standards

  • Visual inspection:

    • No oil, rust or dust

    • Absence of pits/particles

    • Rounded edges

  • Adhesion test: Cross-cut method per ISO 2409

Note: All preparation steps must be completed before coating application to ensure optimal performance.
